Query: who was the architect?
I am trying to find out who the architect was for this white building at 54 Anderson Street, South Yarra, located behind the Melbourne Botanic Gardens and opposite Guilfoyle’s Volcano at Gate C.

I’m guessing you found the answer to this question long ago, but just in case you didn’t, the architect was Barry Patten of Yuncken Freeman architects. I have been researching the same building myself..

Actually I believe the architect was Roy Simpson. Simpson, like Patten, was a partner at Yuncken Freeman (the firm had a number of names) but Patten was more involved with commercial projects. Simpson won a Royal Australian Institute of Architecture Gold Medal for his contribution to architecture..
