Open spaces gardens such as the Botanic Gardens in Melbourne are a fantastic asset for a huge number of reasons. At it simplest, the place is a wonderful place to just meander and wander about, taking in the flora and fauna and being out in the open. The exercise is very good for you.

My compliments to the management and staff as they do a great job of looking after the place. There are always changes happening, and that’s a very good thing. They obviously care for the future as they have been implementing all sorts of green infrastructure improvements to ensure that the gardens are adapted for climate change.

The photographs above were taken on a very quiet and very overcast day. It rained as we finished our walk. There were very few people about so it made a for a very peaceful stroll in the park. Also note that this walk was through the eastern sections. There is so much more to this park than seen in these photographs.

There was also Guilfoyle’s Volcano – click here.

I have also written about my doubts about the new Australian Gardens at the Botanic Gardens at Cranbourne – click here
