George Monbiot on moral blankness
Even though I have been involved in political advocacy for far too many years, I am still constantly amazed by the total lack of empathy shown by many decision makers – being both bureaucrats and politicians. These people do not take the time to look at the evidence of what happens as a result of their decisions.
Locally the Chief Minister, who is also the Minister for Urban Development, and his bureaucracy have the infamous reputation of being disconnected from the people effected by their decisions on urban developments. One wonders how these people sleep at night!
Apparently I am not alone. George Monbiot has uncovered this ability to not see the reality in front of you also exists within UK politicians – namely within the current prime minister.
