great food wonderful cakes

Went for a wander up Rathdowne Street in Calton North and found a wonderful cafe for food, cakes and coffee and friendly service. this is a find!!

We were driving around after a not so successful visit to the Museum Victoria – sort of successful in seeing the Galloway Hoard (review here) – and so were in the need for something wonderful for lunch.

I am very wary of cafes as so many serve the same unoriginal food and usually bland coffee with minimal friendly service. As for the cakes in most cafes, too many have the standard stuff and far too much blandness.

Biscotteria Carlton North was none of the above.

We were greeted by very friendly staff (the owners), fantastic home made cakes and pastries and some very yummy choices for lunch.

I rate the Biscotteria Carlton North based on this one visit as a clear 8 out of ten.

I hold back a little as we did not have a coffee and I would like to try a few more of their pastries before considering 10 out of 10.

I will enjoy making visits and eating good food to assess them for a rare ten out of ten.

I would highly recommend Biscotteria Carlton North as  a place to meet friends for lunch.
