Is gullicism a real word?

word for the day maybe

It is amazing how gullible so many people are and have always been; think religion, think Trump, think Australian Prime Ministers such as Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison, think those who still listen to anything broadcasted by or published by the Murdoch empire.

As well dealing with the reality of so many being gullible, there’s also the rampant phenomenon of how cynical so many in society have been trained to be by the crap merchants that fill their heads with nonsense – to make a a mountain of cash for themselves.

Then along comes an article in The Atlantic that accurately sums up this situation and also provides a work to be used to bring together the word gullibly and cynicism.

That word is gullicism.

I am not sure it is yet a real word – but it definitely serves the purpose.

Later in the article they use the word gullicist to describe those whose lives are ruled by gullicism – gullibility and cynicism.

It is a good read – click here.
