Marking the death of Phil Everly
With the death of one of the Everly Brothers, we are reminded of how influential they were. The list of who claims to have been influenced by them starts with the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and much of the early west coast sound, including the Birds and the Eagles.
There are many tributes online, one I suggest is by Rolling Stone (click on the image).
I have my own list of songs I remember by the Everly Brothers. On trawling through some of the tributes I came across one I had not heard before. It is a song about their frustrations of having to play to the crowds of oldies who go to Las Vegas for gambling and for easy entertainment. Yes I am sure they really loved those shows!
